 SELF HELP/ HEALTH
Health Wars

By
Phillip Day
'Health Wars' by Phillip Day
This book has been recommended to me by a friend of mine, and is a book I have been looking for in a while. Phillip Day is a journalist, not a doctor, who has been investigating the healthcare industry, but also nutrition, and other long lived people and their way of life. He mentions subjects like apricots kernels and vitamin B17 and the propaganda about it, Fluoride, vaccination, etc. A great book, refreshing and which does answer a lot of questions, as well as asking many more. Are apricots kernels really toxic? Find out for yourself...
Healing with whole Foods

By
Paul Pitchford
'Healing with Whole foods' by Paul Pitchford
' Oriental traditions and Modern Nutrition'
This is the most complete book I have ever seen about foods. They list nearly everything you can think of in foods, condiments, plants, seaweeds. The author also describes ailments and foods which do help for them; but also how to find balance and good health . A very wise book. So big it's taking me ages to finish though. It's a must for anyone into health and foods.

Sugar Blues

By
William Duffy

'Sugar Blues' by William Duffy
This books was a revelation. I had never heard at the time of such interesting facts about the sugar industry and health. There is no need to think "yeah yeah I know, sugar's bad for me" before you actually read that book and understand the facts , the history of sugar, as well as the evolution of our people. It's a very interesting history book mixed with studies and health issues. A political book.

Health in your Hands

By
Devondra Vera

'Health in your hands' by Devondra Vera
I found this book in a modest Indian store, among other Urdu cookery books and religious books. This author has studied sciencein America but went back to India to study the traditionnal and ancient art of healing. He focuses mostly on accupressure, but also explains how the body works, whose role is what, and other complementary therapies like breathing technics, chromotherapy (sun and colours)urine therapy (oh my god) .This book is very wise, and is one of these books that, even if written simply, does put the gigsaw pieces toguether a bit more. Good luck to find it, but you never know, you may getit on the net.

L'argile qui guerit

par
Raymond Dextreit

'L'argile qui Guerit' by Raymond Dextreit
A book which tells you everything (nearly) that you want and need to know about Clay. Its healing abilities are explained, along with their uses. The book is unfortunatly French, but I'm sure if you want to find something similar, you will find it . Otherwise you could learn French.
Uropathy

By
Martin J. Lara
'Uropathy' by martin J Lara
Oh my god! I found this Urine Therapy book at Spitalfield Market, on a stand selling hemp seed juices along with other great dodgy plants and oils. . Anyway, this book is rather interesting, and also talks about the AIDS subject in a very contraversal way ...The author also mentions nutrition, rock salt (in this case the need for it) and again...vaccines and their dangers.
There is an interesting annecdote about tropical illnesses caught whilst abroad, and how in emergency to cure them (but I would not like to try) . If you are interested in Urine therapy, this book is for you. Do not be put off by the way the author writes (naive grammatical mistakes) (arrghrhhh yes I know)

Kiatsu

By
Koichi Tohei

'Kiatsu' by Koichi Tohei
This book is from a japanese shop.'Develop your innate energy in order to heal yourself and others by realizing the principles of the mind and the body.'
The japanese author works with KI energy (life energy) and the hands. It is like a kind of healing. Very interesting.

Cosmetics Unmasked

By
Dr Stephen/

Gina Antczak

'Cosmetics Unmasked' by dr S/ G Antczac
This book, along with the next one, was something I wanted to get for ages..Then I found it. And throwed out all my make up and industrial personnal hygiene products.
There is a way of having a more natural way of life, some health food stores will supply shampoos without nasty chemicals in them; remember your skin breathes, and absorbs a lot of what you put on it. If you put shit on it, it has to go somewhere. Blood stream maybe? Anyway, this is a good book to be able to read and unmask what the big laboratories don't want you to know.
E for Additives

By
Maurice Hanssen
'E for additives' by Maurice Hanssen
E for additive is mainly about food additives, and lists them in order; stating their origin, role, and effect or lack of effect on the body.
It explains in an understandable language labels, and goes through the process of foods. There are just too many additives about, that's what I concluded after reading this book; therefore it's best to eat natural. As much as possible. This is a bible book to own and read, and great fun to get the tins out the cupboard and make your own research. Lovely!
You can heal your Life

By Louise L. Hay

'You can heal your life' by Louise L Hay
This is a very different approach to health: mental health which in return brings physical health. This book taught me a lot, and everytime I open it I find something I had forgotten about, and which helps with fears, troubles, self hatred, or any other clutter about at the time..
She talks in a loving way to the inner child, to the person hidding underneath the everyday masks. It is beautiful, and is very emotionnal.
I recommend to anyone with an open mind to read that book. Cynical people will find it probably farty.
But then what is really life about...it's important to know about the self.

How to stop Worrying

By
Frank Tallis
'How to stop worrying' by Frank Tallis
I put this book there only becasue after reading all the health books, you will be just so worried you will need a book like this to help you out. It's a book with casual conversation, which can help if you never think about this kind of thing. Very simple, and there are some very good points in it, obvious but easilly forgotten about.
Fast Food Nation

By
Eric Schlosser

'Fast Food Nation' by Eric Schlosser
Avery interesting book about how junk food merchands like Mac Donald or Burger King etc started. Fascinating piece of history.
Very American. It's hard to relate to it, not having been over there, but the food bit is just very disturbing and nice to know about.

Still reading it.

Calendrier Lunaire 2004

How long have I been looking for a book like this! it s a moon calendar, and it s mainly for gardening; BUT there is a big chapter about the moon and it s effects on Humans. A very handy calendar of when to cut the hair and when to pluck is included. It includes details like when to do fasting: aparently the best day to do it is on a new moon, where the body has more ability to self clean; when things will start, new. (I tried last month,it was fine and I felt wonderful during the day, but at night I didn't sleep very well...Afraid something bad would happen! How silly, it s only not eating for a day...) how sad is this western education. If only I was born somewhere where people are born wise...Like these far away secluded tribes...
How to enjoy your weeds

By
Audrey Wynne Hatfield

'How to enjoy your weeds' by Audrey Wynne Hatfield

A lovely book offered by a lady who, like me, has always liked weeds, particularly eating them. Funny enough cannabis is not mentionned in the book...This is about natural living, not about getting high and stonned up to your (e)ars! Baaah. Well you do what you want, but I'm off to the garden, I saw some crispy chickweed earlier...

Food for Free

By
Richard Mabey
'Food for Free' by Richard Mabey
Another wonderful book, that I had to buy. It lists most of the UK-Europe wild edible plants, mushrooms and seaweeds.Very small, it fits in the back pocket of your jeans, always better to read that than a silly "Metro" on the tube. At least you learn about something which will become useful to you. (Metro are like junk food, very atrractive though, so I'll forgiveyou if you read it)('the weakness of the flesh')
Back Garden Nature Reserve

By
Chris Packham
'Back Garden nature reserve' by Chris Packham
A good starting book for beguinners who want to be closer to nature and help their local birds, wildlife and animals. In London, we don't see as many pretty things as where the author lives, but we do see quite a lot of birds and insects. (I have not found a book on insect eating yet, unfortunatly, so in the meantime I'll just make sure they have a safe place to be in)
Advices on all kind of subjects. It would have been better though if the author did emphasize more the need to feed birds with organic seeds, rather than heavily polluted seeds crops and processed rubbish. (they do not list ingredients on these larded milky seed balls which stink the hell, do they...)
SAS Survival Guide

By
John Wiseman
'SAS Survival Guide' by John Wiseman
A good guide you should always have in your handbag, instead of your lipstick or cd player. Very good.
One thing I do not agree with though: which is very unfair of them to state. They say even in case of emergency, when there are no water supplies, you should never drink sea water or urine , because of toxicity (can't find the exact quote) now this is very unfair and wrong about the urine, because in general, fresh urine is non toxic, and many people have survived disasters and managed to stay alive without water,by drinking their own urine.
It s a bit of a pratt's book, really.Maybe I shalln't recommend it. Ah,too late.

The one and only guide to starting in Couture! It s in French though. But you only need to look at the drawings to understand. Very useful.

Par
Thierry Crosson
'Le guide du culot' by Thierry Crosson
"Cheek's guide"
A made up story about a man who describes his own cheeky tactics to get into the world of advertissment, cinema, radio, televisoin, fashion, politics, etc. Very funny. If you understand French, that is.

'Stupid White Men' by Mickael Moore
You probably have heard about this book, very good innit. (I haven't fninished reading it yet, I found that oh very interesting "health wars" which is also very politic) Worth a read, anyway. Lovely.

'Midi Stereo Digital Sampler'
The return of the nightmare Trilogy! When you spend your dark winter afternoon next to the wood fire, reading, this is the book for the job. Tedious, boring, technical, ununderstandable, pointless, just like reading "The Sun" really, except it s not got as much bad language in it.
Now if you get to the end of this book, and have understood it all, you can come and explain it to me.
I have the equipment to go with it.
French-English-English-French Dictionnary
By
Larousse
'French-English-English-french' Larousse Dictionnary>
You must have heard of this famous Larousse Dictionnary. This is the book you need if you get to buy any of the French books I list above. Tiny, it s another book which will fit in your jeans pocket for when you are bored on the tube. Then you can write me emails in French. Lovely! Get it!
Abusive or rude emails are not welcome :-) And if you have seen my porno pictures somewhere else, 2 things you need to know about it:
--1) it's not me,
--2) I don't want to know about it.
Thanks.
